Etihad Airways Launches Historic Direct Flight from Abu Dhabi to Phnom Penh at Techo International Airport
Kandal, 4 October 2025 – Techo International Airport proudly welcomed the inaugural direct flight of Etihad Airways (EY), a world-class airline connecting Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (AUH) to Phnom Penh, Cambodia (KTI). The historic landing, which took place at 7:00 a.m., marked a significant milestone in Cambodia’s aviation history, strengthening the Kingdom’s connectivity to the Middle East and beyond.
The arrival ceremony was graced by H.E. Huot Hak, Minister of Tourism; senior representatives from the State Secretariat of Civil Aviation; and Oknha Charles Vann, Chief Executive Officer of Cambodia Airport Investment Co., Ltd. (CAIC); leaders of relevant institutions. Together, they extended a warm welcome to Etihad Airways and its passengers on this momentous occasion.
This direct service represents a new era of opportunity for Cambodia, enhancing accessibility for business and leisure travelers while reinforcing the country’s integration into the global aviation network. Minister Huot Hak emphasized that the launch of Etihad Airways’ Abu Dhabi–Phnom Penh route responds directly to the rising demand for international travel to Cambodia, aligning with the Royal Government’s vision under the leadership of Samdech Moha Bovor Thipadei HUN Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia.
According to Etihad Airways (Cambodia), the service officially commenced on 3 October 2025, operating four times weekly. The outbound flight EY0434 departs Abu Dhabi every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday at 20:45, arriving in Phnom Penh at 06:55 (+1). The return flight EY0435 departs Phnom Penh every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday at 07:45, arriving in Abu Dhabi at 12:45.
This milestone not only signifies a proud achievement for Cambodia’s tourism and aviation sectors but also underscores Techo International Airport’s role as a modern gateway to the world.
